Program Description
The Rosenfield Distinguished Community Partnership Prize program is designed to publicly recognize ongoing or one-time collaborations between UCLA faculty, or staff and community residents or non-profit organizations that have already enhanced the quality of life in Southern California communities in meaningful and measurable ways. A total of four awards will be presented. Each award is made jointly to the principal UCLA participant and the community partner, thereby publicly recognizing and uniting the two halves of the UCLA in LA partnership.
Because UCLA values these partnerships and wants to encourage and reward them in tangible ways, each winning partnership will receive a cash prize of $25,000 divided between the UCLA partner and the community partner. No public funds are used to support the prize program. All awards are subject to applicable University of California policies and federal and state taxation.
These cash awards are made possible through the Ann C. Rosenfield Fund at the UCLA Foundation under the direction of David A. Leveton.
Program Goals
The primary goals of the annual Rosenfield Distinguished Community Partnership Prize Program are to publicly demonstrate that UCLA:
- Is committed to serving the needs of Greater Los Angeles across the many disciplines in which it is engaged;
- Values and rewards the work of faculty and staff working in community-based programs and projects;
- Recognizes the importance and essential contributions of partnerships with external not for profit organizations in helping it fulfill the service component of its mission;
- Respects the histories, values and goals of the many diverse communities it serves;
- Encourages and celebrates partnerships that are helping to make our communities better places to live, learn, work and play.
Awards Categories
